Our Stocking Tradition

The Posyluzny's have a Christmas tradition of sharing a stocking with a special friend or family member. This year we sent one to Bam in Spokane, Baba in Canada and our missionaries here in Idaho. They are coming to dinner tomorrow night, and we've got their stockings ready!

Only 5 Days Until Christmas!

The Christmas Countdown is on! Finishing up the last baskets and treats for families that we visit and home teach, and members of our ward.
We made a big batch of Wonderful Stuff. I decided to just pour the M & M's over, after the mix is cool in the container that way they don't get soft and melty!

I have been saving the FHE Lessons from LDS Living Magazine online the past year. I had quite a file of lessons and decided to burn CD's and give them away---a year's worth of FHE lessons and ideas!

It's Beginning to Feel A Lot Like Christmas!

I think one of the things we look forward to the most at the Posyluzny home is giving to friends and family at Christmas Time. We used to do big trays of goodies, popcorn, etc., but now we do more gift baskets and things that we can make ahead, as we have expanded our lists! I must say it's a fun family event. Our last week of school, we load up our Santa Sacks and head to school, work, and the neighborhood to delivering our "loot!"

Some of our Bath and Body Combo Baskets

Russian Tea Baskets are a favorite!

Santa Soaps, Wall Flowers and Mouse Pads

Note to self: Order more cute Snowmen and Santa Sacks from Oriental Trading next year--perfect for the Bath and Body soaps and lotions!

Russian Tea and goodies!

We "canned" 48 pints of Russian Tea!

We made 3 batches of Chocolate Truffles (not pictured)

and a big batch of "Wonderful Stuff" (recipe follows).

Wonderful Stuff

Mix the following dry ingredients in a large bowl:

9 cups Golden Grahams Cereal

8 cups Corn Chex Cereal (This year we tried the chocolate mix)

2 cups coconut

1 cup sliced almonds

Mix the following in a saucepan and boil for 12 minutes, stirring

1 cup light corn syrup

1 cup sugar

3/4 cup butter

Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly. Pour over cereal mixture and toss lightly. This year we added the holiday M & M's for color! Enjoy! This is one of those treats you just can't stop munching on! Warning: terribly addictive!

More Table Runners!

On Black Friday we were shopping in Boise and Mandy and I picked out enough holiday fabric to make 18 table runners. Just think of the tables we'll be running up and down this Christmas!

We hope you enjoy our gifts to you as much as we enjoyed making them!

A Very Merry Christmas and Best Wishes in 2010 to you and yours!
